"Education is not preparation for life; education is life itself." - John Dewey | Father of Education
Policy Priorities for 2026-2027
We need to strengthen HB (House Bill) 3941 implementation. Expand independent-living funding, mentoring access, and Medicaid coverage to age 26.
Our Ask: Appropriate $15M for competitive transition grants to nonprofits serving aging-out youth.
Transition Pathways
1
Support TEA Foster Care & Student Success Programs and mandate district-level trauma-informed training. The subconscious life of their young minds is affecting the conscious parts of their education.
Our Ask: Require TEA to publish annual foster-student retention and graduation dashboards by region.
Education Stability
2
We should create statewide implementation Council linking DFPS, TEA, and HHSC for Oversight and cross-data reporting.
Our Ask: Require annual outcomes reports to the legislature on education, housing, and employment metrics.
Inter-Agency Accountability
3
Fund community based therapeutic centers under ESC supervision to prevent juvenile justice crossover. We want to bring down the culture of mental health trends that encourage these youth to spiral.
Our Ask: Pilot $5M in regional trauma Recovery micro-centers.
Mental Health Access

Services We Provide
Education Support
We train foster parents, caregivers, teachers, and professionals on trauma-informed care. We provide direct coaching for parents navigating special education. We advocate in ARD meetings. We break down rights and responsibilities. We create equal access to information for families who would otherwise be outmatched by institutional processes.
Foster Youth & At-Risk People
We engage with youth in crisis. We stabilize situations, translate expectations, protect rights, and create pathways toward durable success. We coordinate with CASA and CPS. We ensure youth feel seen, valued, and defended. We operate as a consistent presence when placements break down or families face high-risk situations.
Disability & Mental Health
We help families understand diagnoses and navigate services. We connect them with local resources and support programs. We guide them through state processes and prepare them to advocate for themselves with confidence.
Advocacy & Rights Protection
We speak on behalf of children and all people. We negotiate with agencies. We partner with schools. We challenge violations. We expose gaps in care. We disrupt practices that undermine human dignity. We stand for the people who lack the power to fight back.
